A thousand kilometres of coast, a mountain of 2710 metres appeared from the sea in ancient times and touched the sky. It is a summary image, but gives an idea of the wonderful characteristics of the third island of the Mediterranean sea.

Probably part of the mythical story of Atlantide it has a tormented ancient and recent history. It can be an incentive to study and to search for original habitants, but what really interests the tourist, especially the nautical ones, is the landscapes wonders, characterized by its high and idented coast, or its low and sandy lands, sometimes almost marshy. A lot of natural wonders, set in an unbelievable blue sea, framed by granite rocks with pink reflexes.

Ii the area to the south of Porto, for instance, there is the most spectacular view of the whole island; Capo Rosso separate Sagona Gulf and Porto Gulf; from here you can see both. And then the Girolata Gulf, considered from UNESCO one of the world most interesting places, gives the opportunuty to promenade in place where cars cannot enter.
